Wrapped up in a Wellspring
(Originally posted on Michael's blog)
I'm not gone, I'm just swamped! I've been mostly working on Wellspring the last few weeks getting the final event details set. I've been designing posters & postcards, writing letters & budgets and a myriad of other things. I wrote the following on the Wellspring blog Wednesday. This gives you a heart for what's been happening at UNCW.
We feel that the Lord wants to do two fold work at Wellspring on April 10. The first is a corporate release over the city of Wilmington. We have been agreeing with the Lord to open the heavens over this city and reveal Himself. We feel that there is a new corporate expression of worship coming to the Body of Wilmington that is going to propel the Church into a position of receiving the heart of God and then releasing the heart of God with signs and wonders! ( Read Acts 2:17 for more on that!)
So how do we go about receiving what God desires to give us?
- First, I think it starts with a humble heart! We have to be willing to change the way we feel about the Holy Spirit and His ways! Just like jesus used the image of the old wineskin being unable to receive the new wine without bursting, we have to have new hearts, refreshed by his presence, to receive the new move of His Holy Spirit.
- Secondly we have to be willing to let go of our compromise and sin! We must truly define grace by Jesus' standards and not our own. Once we have a true understanding of grace and repentance then the Lord can reveal Him self in power. And that's where the releasing of the heart of God comes in:
We are called to bind up the broken hearted and proclaim liberty to the captives! (Read Isaiah 61 for more details :) The earth has not seen the glory of God in man like they will see it when the Bride is walking in her full potential. The men and women of righteousness will walk the earth in the power of the Holy Spirit (just like Jesus & more so), releasing freedom, healing, restoration and wholeness!
